mistress-catherine:

Puppy play is one of my favorite kinks! It is a form of roleplay that can be sexual or non-sexual in nature in which the sub takes on the role of a puppy. This is done as a form of objectification and dehumanization and can include (or not include) the following:

Controlled bathroom breaks; restricted speech (as puppies dont talk); the use of restricting paw gloves, harnesses and muzzles; having the submissive walk on hands and knees (usually supplemented with kneepads); having the submissive eat from a dish on the floor, the use of butt plugs with tails attached, face paint, and all your usual BDSM gear.

Because the submissive is not allowed to talk, safewords should be replaced with hand signals or specific sounds and partners should communicate as much as possible before, during and after the session to be sure the puppy is safe. If the puppy is crawling, kneepads should be use to protect the knees from hard surfaces. Masters and Mistresses should listen carefully to the noises their pet makes, always looking for any signs of distress or discomfort.

Because puppies cant use their hands or walk on two legs, Dom/mes will have to help their pet do things like brushing their teeth, getting dressed and handling objects.

Sometimes puppy play can help with a couples communication skills, making the Dom/me learn how to respond to non-verbal cues quickly and effectively. It can be a source of grounding (no pun intended) for the sub, giving him or her lots of time to think. It forces the puppy to be dependent on his or her Dom/me.

Puppy play requires a heavy amount of communication and understanding of eachothers needs, but if its done correctly it can be a fun and rewarding way for both subs and Dom/mes to explore their relationship.
